Michael Jackson Public Memorial Service

There may be no camera or video recording for fans fortunate enough to attend Michael Jackson’s Public Memorial Service today. But that does not mean that a billion people won’t be watching the history-making event around the world.

Today is what can arguably be considered the final act for Michael Jackson and it is going to be on a grand scale. If you're one of his millions of fans who would like to participate in observing this final tribute... there are options both here in South Florida and across the internet.

Fort Lauderdale City Buzz Examiner has linked to the location of today's Miami event at Miami Dade Community College's Wolfson Campus in Downtown Miami.

For those unable to attend locally, the service to air at 1 p.m. Eastern time, can also be seen streaming live in English and Spanish on South Florida's CBS4.COM.

In Central Florida, Royal Palm 20 Theaters will be showing the Michael Jackson Memorial Service. This is a service that will be provided by Carmike Cinemas, Inc. Gary Green, Director of Alternate Content of Carmike Cinemas, stated,

"This free live broadcast is a gift from Carmike Cinemas to all of Michael Jackson's fans as a way to present the memorial service in the best digital presentation available. As the world mourns the death of an iconic figure in music history, we are pleased to be able to offer our loyal patrons the chance to remember the King of Pop in a communal setting as a way to celebrate his life, music and many accomplishments." Michael Jackson Memorial Service is also to be live broadcasted to Theatres in up to 31 States Nationwide via Cinedigm's Digital Cinema Network. A list of other select movie theaters public memorial service throughout the nation is provided at cindedigm.com.

LA Celebrity Headlines Examiner will be attending the Michael Jackson Memorial Live and has posted a list of celebrities scheduled to attend the star-studded event.

The list includes: Mariah Carey, Usher, Stevie Wonder, John Mayer , Kobe Bryant, Brooke Shields, Magic Johnson, Martin Luther King III, Motown founder Berry Gordy, the Rev. Al Sharpton and family friend Ron Boyd. Rounding out the musical guests are Lionel Richie, Smokey Robinson, Jennifer Hudson, Shaheen Jafargholi ("Britain's Got Talent") and the Andraé Crouch Choir.

Finally, you will be able to pay tribute and observe the memorial event from virtually anywhere today. Every major television network will be covering the Michael Jackson Memorial service, as well as the cable news channels, E! and TV Guide channels.

No television nearby? Fear not: speculation over what is likely the biggest event to hit ever the internet: Michael Jackson's Memorial Service will be streaming online at Facebook, MySpace, and major television websites. LA Music Examiner has a list here.

It is likely that The Staples Center in Los Angeles, location of the Michael Jackson Public Memorial Service, may be best approached by staying far away. Crowds of mourners, up to 750,000, are expected to be descending upon the city of Los Angeles. ABC 

Thankfully, the options are numerous for fans here in South Florida and all over the world to still pay their final respects while watching the memorial to one of the most popular musicians ever.
