To great fanfare, the Harry Potter Exhibit opened last night at Boston’s Museum of Science. Recreating the world of Harry Potter, the blockbuster exhibit gets fans up close to more than 200 authentic artifacts used in the films. The opening party, attended by more than one thousand guests, was a great preview into the exhibit that officially opens to the public on Sunday October 25 and runs through until February 21, 2010
Just in time for Halloween, fans will want to stop by the Potion exhibit before studying costumes from the film that show how much the characters have changed in size since their on-screen journey began. Potter fanatics and fans enter the Gryffindor Common Room before getting to Hagrid’s giant-sized hut. On display too are the Great Hall and the Forbidden Forest.
British actor Matthew Lewis, who plays Harry’s classmate Neville Longbotton in the films, was on hand to present his character’s wand for installation in the Gryffindor Common Room area. All in all, 10,000 square feet of museum space has been transformed into an amazing recreation of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

The Museum of Science is the only New England venue to host the international exhibition and the second venue worldwide
Tickets can be purchased at the Museum, mos.org, or by calling 617-723-2500, 617-589-0417 (TTY). Combination admission into the Museum and Harry Potter: the Exhibition is $26 for adults; $24 for seniors (60 and over); $23 for children (ages 3-11) and $5 for Museum of Science members
