Celebrate the arrival of Beaujolais Nouveau this year at Boston’s Brasserie JO. Produced in the Beaujolais region of France and fermented for just a few weeks, Beaujolais Nouveau is released for sale annually on the third Thursday of November. In celebration of the 2009 pour, one guest will receive the Grand Prize, a four-night stay for two at Paris’ Hotel Napoleon. Festivities at Brasserie JO also include regional French cuisine, wine tasting courtesy of WJ Deutsche & Sons Ltd and Grey Goose cocktails, while a jazz ensemble featuring a French vocalist entertains throughout the evening. Additionally, The Colonnade will provide chances to win overnight stays at the hotel and gift certificates toward future visits to Brasserie JO.
Executive Chef Nicholas Calias offers a varied menu from light snacks to full course meals, with such classic French dishes as Uncle Hansi's onion tart, hanger steak, pomme frites, coq au vin, croque monsieur, and desserts including crème brûlée and profiteroles covered in homemade chocolate sauce.
The event is held November 18 with a Grey Goose cocktail tasting from 6 to 7 p.m. and a wine tasting from 7 to 9 p.m. Brasserie JO is located at 120 Huntington Avenue in Boston.
