Another chapter in the unraveling of the Gosselin family, from the reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8, is taking place for the world to see. Only this time it’s affecting the lives of the newest members to their clan – the two family German shepherd dogs.

Most animal lovers cringed when Jon and Kate Gosselin took on the added responsibility of raising two German Shepherd puppies, in addition to taking care of their 8 young children. Now with an impending divorce, our worst fears are being realized as the two dogs are losing their home and being sent back to the breeder.

Jon Gosselin is blaming his estranged wife, Kate for the problem with the fifteen month old dogs, Shoka and Nala. He claims that Kate is not taking care of the dogs when he is not at the family’s home in Wernersville, PA.

"It's not fair to the dogs to not be wanted in their own home," Jon said.

Those close to Kate report that the dogs have always been Jon’s responsibility. They claim that Kate Gosselin has always been willing to do what she can to take care of the dogs, but she cannot physically handle them well. And Jon did not make any arrangements for the shepherds since he has moved into an apartment in New York City.

The breeder, Jeff Christopher, told RadarOnline.com that he is happy to house the dogs and that they will not be put up for adoption.

"They would stay in my family and I wouldn't give them to anyone else," Christopher said. "They asked me to take care of them and I will.”

Hopefully this move will put Shoka and Nala in more responsible hands with someone who understands their needs.
