Actor Robert Townsend stops through Houston

Film Life, Inc. announces it will present acclaimed producer/director Robert Townsend's "The Ultimate Pitch Master Class" lecture series. The tour begins in New York, making several stops in major cities, including Houston on November 14, 2009.
Hosted by Houston native play writer/author and CEO of I’m Ready Productions (www.imreadyproductions.com), Je’Caryous Johnson at the Je’Caryous Johnson Acting School, located at The Empowerment Community Center, Townsend’s three-hour session is designed to teach those seeking careers in film and television how to pitch their ideas to networks and studios. ownsend shares his technique from concept to development, through the various stages of rewrites and pitching to studios as well as providing advice on how to close the deal with clarity, precision and confidence. One lucky attendee will be selected to pitch his or her original script idea to Townsend. Local aspiring actors, writers and producers are encouraged to register immediately for this event.
Robert Townsend, known for films such as “Hollywood Shuffle”, “The Five Heartbeats, "The Meteor Man", and his sit-com "The Parenthood", has directed such talents as Beyonce Knowles, James Earl Jones, Bill Cosby, Eddie Murphy, and Halle Berry. Most recently, Townsend, added president and CEO of a television network to an impressive list showcasing his talents as an actor, director, writer,comedian, and producer.
