"This Is It" is an extremely moving, uplifting memorial to the late, great, Michael Jackson. It is a compilation of footage filmed during the planning and rehearsals for Michael's much looked forward to come back concert tour,"This Is It".
Michael Jackson is shown as a strong, vibrant, in charge superstar, which is what he was. He might have looked somewhat slim, but otherwise alert and healthy. He had to be in great shape to endure the long grueling rehearsals gettting ready for his upcoming, over the top concert.
A few of the highlights of the movie were performances of "Billie Jean", "You Gotta Be Startin Something", and "The Way You Make Me Feel". One part of the movie that I thought was a little out of place was about saving the rain forests. This movie is about Michael, and no one could save him.
"This Is It" brought back the vision of Michael Jackson being magical onstage - there is no one that can compare to that. He was a rare talent. It gave you a good feeling, and helped to erase the negativity that had come about in recent years. At the end of the movie though, when Michael sang "Man In The Mirror", it was both sad and hard to understand how Michael could feel that way about himself, but he must have, apparently. He had been treated so unfairly and cruelly in the media. Why couldn't people have shown how much they loved him before it was too late?
