New Orleans is a city dominated by jazz, funk, and rap; however, bluesman John Lisi is an exception to the rule. If you like your rice and your music dirty, Lisi is the man for you. His whiskey-soaked vocals are perfectly paired with gritty backwoods guitar licks (“Hit The Ground Running”), blistering solos, and down-and-out lyrics (“Woke Up Pissed”).

Backed by his bandmates, Jimbo Mathubass and Cody Dickinson of North Mississippi All-Stars, Lisi has created a unique blend of timeless blues originals (“Can You Dig It?”), explosive rock-and-roll, and lowdown Delta swamp-funk. Lisi will be playing with his band, Deltafunk, April 11th, at Banks St. Bar & Grill at 4401 Banks St. in Mid-City.
