A few days before Michael Jackson's film "This Is It" was intended close its doors to the public I walked into a theater filled with fans. Days after the premiere with no lights, camera's or a velvet red carpet the excitement for one glimpse of his performance was still there. It went unnoticed until the movie began and everyone in theater quietly listened. Watching each step mimicked by the main dancers, and his voice amplified by eager background singers. "This Is It" channeled emotion from the audience and the crew. We lived their dreams to perform alongside a legend, and we lived his dream to love. Decades of shamon beat into existence with a step here, and a spin there. Along the way he handed down advice to tweak every portion of the show. In the few minutes we took to watch "This Is It" we learned of his perfectionism, and his father like ability to bring out the best in those around him. "Its your time to shine," he encouraged female guitarist Oranthi Panagaris to take aim and claim her moment. Michael Jackson the King of Pop surrendered his soul with every step of his journey in hopes of bringing an exceptional experience to fans. All the while driving home the notion "This Is It," this is our time to shine. As we look at the man in the mirror it is thrilling to remember from his songs, dance and preparation of a lifetime worth of music that the final performance is what MJ was waiting to see from us. Initiative and action from those following his dream, to heal the world, to save the earth, and to love one another poured into each frame of film and every note he sang. "This Is It," which opened October 28th, originally scheduled to run for a two week limited engagement is extended through Thanksgiving.
