General Motors just informed its dealers about the resurrection of the Buick Regal. This follows feedback from its dealers and consumers to bring back a name people know and love. Buicks transformation to take on automakers such as BMW began with the Buick Enclave and shortly followed up by the 2010 Buick Lacrosse.
This transformation shows that GM is serious about winning back its customers as well as gaining customers that never considered a GM product.
The 2011 Regal is based on the Epsilon II platform which it will share with the Buick Lacrosse. The Regal will be approximately seven inches longer and though the DNA is nearly the same there will be plenty of reasons to choose one over the other.
The Regal has been on sale in China for some months now but the American version will slightly differ.
Most readily apparent is the altered front fascia, which features a slightly larger and more rounded-off version of Buick's trademark chrome waterfall grille. Also note the redesigned lower openings below the grille and headlamps along with the new squared-off fog lamps which is shown in the picture above.
