The college tennis season is in full swing and there's lots to report out there.  Let's take a look at some of what happened over the past few days:

Rhyne Williams of Tennessee won the Georgia Tech Fall Tournament. The freshman defeated teammate Mateo Fago in the final, 6-1,6-4. Carlos Alvarez and Gera Boryachinksiy of Clemson took the doubles title at that event with a 9-8(1) win over Miguel Mugurza and Ryan Smith of Georgia Tech;

UCLA was the big winner at the Cal Nike Invitational with Yasmin Schnack taking the Gold singles and then teaming with Andrea Remynse for the doubles. Host California also had a great showing with newcomers Tayler Davis and Kasia Siwosz winning Blue Doubles;

Rice’s Rebekkah Hanle and Tulsa’s Alexandra Kichoutkin were Co- Women’s Players of the Month by Conference USA. Bruno Rosa, also of Rice, took the men’s honor;

Darlyn Greenan has left his position at the University of Iowa to take over as the new women’s head coach at Mississippi State University;

The first major collegiate event of the year has also begun. Pre-Qualfiying is done and Qualifying is in progress at the D'Novo ITA Men's All American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and the Riviera Women's All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, California.  In addition to following the results at tournaments' official websites, look for reports here before and after this weekend's main draw.  You can also listen to the RadioTennis.com broadcast (which started today) from the women's event.
