It’s one of the best kept secrets in college tennis, but not for those who have played it.  For the seventh year in a row, the USTA BJK NTC Women’s College Invitational showcased  NCAA Division I women's tennis at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center – also known as the home of theU.S. Open.

The tournament is played every October and is by the tournament director’s (Whitney Kraft, Director of Tennis at the National Tennis Center) invitation only.  This year there were 21 schools participating -- Army, Binghamton, Boston College, Brown, Buffalo, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Farleigh Dickinson, Harvard, Liberty, LIU, North Carolina State, U Penn, Princeton, Rutgers, Seton Hall, St John’s, Syracuse, UNC Greensboro and Yale.  The tournament had eight singles flights and fuor doubles ones, with consolations in all so the players got plenty of match time.

Emily Ellis of Brown was the only player to win in singles and doubles (with partner Katherine Sorokko). There was no clear cut team winner at the USTA BJK NTC Women’s College Invitational, but the Ivy League schools certainly dominated the draws.  In addition to Ellis’ wins, Brown had players in two more finals; Yale made four of the final matches, with two singles wins; Dartmouth had a singles winner and two finalists; and Harvard players made three singles finals.  Final results are below and full draws can be found here.
