The Lenny Kravitz, Gabourey Sidibe, Mariah Carey and Mo'nique featured film 'Precious' will soon make its way to another six hundred theaters this month.

After opening in just eighteen theaters and raking in $1.9 million, the Lee Daniels directed film was greenlit for a strong expanded release Tuesday.

While 'Precious,' based on the novel PUSH by Sapphire, is technically an indie film, its buzz and early praise is not normal. In fact, sources say the film's appeal and responses from moviegoers and critics is what caused Lionsgate to push the film further into theaters after the initial limited release.

As reported earlier this year, 'Precious' stormed Sundance (Film Festival), winning honors and garnering the attention of heavyweights Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry.

Also starring Paula Patton, 'Precious' is on the watchlist for Academy Award honors in 2010.

'Precious' will open in select theaters November 20 (check your local theater listings for more information)
