(Flat Belly Diet Pocket Guide, Rodale, $7.99 softcover)

Whether you've been wanting to try Prevention's Flat Belly Diet or have been following the plan for awhile, you'll want to get a copy of the Flat Belly Diet Pocket Guide. The 152-page softcover book is broken down into the following chapters:

  1. User guide
  2. Flat Belly Diet at at glance
  3. 4-day anti-bloat jumpstart diet, with the recipe for Sassy Water
  4. MUFA meal-maker guide
  5. 28-day eating plan with recipes
  6. Quick and easy meals and snacks
  7. Flat Belly Diet-friendly products and restaurant choices

In addition there's also a MUFA serving chart, which shows you how much to eat of those satisfying, healthy monounsaturated fats (it's 2 tablespoons of almonds, not a whole can!).

I've been recommending this great little book to readers who want to try out the diet without commiting to the hardcover book. BTW, the Flat Belly Diet Cookbook is fantastic and comes out later this month.

In a (walnut) shell, the diet is a great, balanced 1,600-calorie eating plan with a pound-blasting jumpstart component that's worth checking out.
