Fourth of July desserts in red, white and blue have patriotic appeal

The easiest, healthiest, most all-American dessert to serve at your July 4 cookout is simply a huge bowl of berries -- you'll have the blue and the red covered with a selection of strawberries and blueberries or blackberries. This time of year, domestic berries are in their prime, and you don't need to add anything else.

Here's a suggestion, though, for the "white" part of your red, white and blue -- Edy's (Dreyer's on the West Coast) has an amazing new Slow-Churned Tart Frozen Yogurt in honey flavor. It's only 100 calories for half a cup and has an old-school yogurty tang and a sweet hint of honey. A scoop of that with berries scattered about is the perfect end to an Independence Day party.
