As the show began, Ron and Mikey celebrated that their nefarious plan worked to eliminate Kristin. Filipe feels like everyone is gunning for him as he works out alone. Bob came into the living room and knew that Ron had a hand in the outcome even though Ron denied it.

As Tara watched their video trip down memory lane, Tara said “It’s hard to watch myself and think why didn’t I do this all along.”

Quote of the week, from Ron: “I’m thinking ‘Oh my God was I fat.’ That was a different guy ago.”

Helen, Tara and Mike tried on their goal clothes and they already fit and look fab. Helen’s “skinny jeans” are a size 8!

Next was a fun trip back to visit Dr. Huizenga. Helen had some amazing before and after photos of her tummy. I point out Helen’s abs because she’s 48 years old and her midsection tightened right up – no tummy tuck needed. Mike cut his waist size in half. Ron learned that he lost a tremendous amount of fat from around his internal organs – the most deadly kind. He’s off all his blood pressure and diabetes medicines, too.

The challenge: The contestants have to schlep all the weight that they’ve lost over a sandy obstacle course and dump sandbags along the way, corresponding with the weight they lost over the weeks they were there. The winner gets $10,000 or a 1-pound advantage. And the second-place winner gets whatever prize the first-place winner doesn’t want. And like usual (say it with me), Tara won the challenge.

Quote of the week No. 2, from Tara: “You have to be uncomfortable to grow.”

Last chance workout was Train the Trainer day. Bob says he loves them while Jillian doesn’t. Really doesn’t. (And girlfriend, get yourself a better sports bra). Someone must have loaned her one because halfway through the workout one appeared.

Weigh-in and elimination: Surprisingly, Tara took the pound and gave Mikey the $10,000. Ron lost an impressive 9 pounds. But Filipe outdid him with 10 pounds. (Off topic here, but how did Bob grow that beard from the weigh-in to talking about the weigh-in?) Helen hit the over-100 pound mark and shot to the top of the list. Whoa, Mikey dumped 11 pounds, so apparently I misread that TV commercial! Tara lost 8 pounds and didn’t even need that 1 extra pound. So that pushed Filipe and Ron under the yellow line. This was an amazing week for weight loss – who loses 10 pounds and goes below the yellow line? I liked Filipe’s plea to stay on much better than Ron’s cocky little speech. But Filipe was right – they were gunning for him and hit him between the eyes with the elimination gun.

Back at home, Filipe’s dad had a stroke, which made getting healthier even more meaningful for the rest of his family.

Next week is the last episode before the big finale. New twist: Everyone goes home for 30 days and comes back to weigh in. And they'll have to run a marathon. But they'll have an especially inspiring cheering section: past winners Ali Vincent and Michelle Aguilar, plus at-home winners Jim Germanakos, Heba Salama and Bernie Salazar. And just like past seasons, viewers will choose who the third finalist will be.
