Week 16 of season 7 and there are six people left in the house. Tara’s all torn up because Laura got the boot. Ron’s amazed he’s still standing. Kristin feels like she dodged a bullet – “a big cannonball,” she said.

Note to Jillian: Laura was not “gravely injured” – that means “going to die.” But she was justified in chewing Tara out for wanting to keep Laura in the game. It wasn’t fair to the other able-bodied contestants. Bob gave Kristin a pep talk since he said going below the yellow line “messes you up. “

Quote of the week, from Bob to Kristin: “You are what the Biggest Loser is all about."

Pop quiz: Rosemary Ellis, editor of Good Housekeeping magazine, helped with a food trivia quiz. The winner gets a trip to New York City. I thought the questions were super easy but I never would have guessed that the teeny pizza had eight servings. Mike won the contest and the three-day trip. Find out more about Good Housekeeping's Biggest Loser feature HERE.

The challenge: Raise the torture contraption! The contestants would be in a cage, dangling 45 feet over the ground. They have to hold onto the cages or the cages fall and they’re out. Call it the go-go cage of terror. Oh, and did I mention that it was 28 degrees? The winner gets $10,000 or a 1-pound advantage at the weigh-in. Filipe was being a huge jerk up there, cackling and shaking the whole apparatus. And as usual Tara won. (How many times have I written this sentence?)

Bob had his team videotape their food journal for the day and critiqued their results. “It’s freakin’ me out,” he said. Turns out they were eating far too few calories and not enough fat or protein.

After the last-chance workout, Mikey confronted his dad about why he led himself and his sons down the road to obesity. We also learned that Ron’s knockout wife also was obese but “got a handle on it” as Ron put it, and lost a lot of weight a few years ago. But it appears Ron’s weight struggle has been ongoing since early childhood.

Commercial interruption: HERE’s a link to that free Jennie-O turkey recipe booklet. It's a downloadable PDF file and features recipes such as the Thai turkey wraps, grilled turkey and vegetable kabobs and turkey taco muffins.

Weigh-in: Tara decided to take the $10,000 instead of the 1-pound advantage. Given that it is Tara, it seemed like a good idea. She was very happy with her 5-pound loss and the $10K in her pocket. Ron finally got below 300 pounds – the first time since he was a teenager. Helen slipped below the yellow line with her 1-pound loss. Joining Helen below the yellow line was Kristin, who actually gained a pound. But she may have put her body into starvation mode from working out really hard and not eating enough calories.

Kristin had a heart to heart with Ron, who promised her that he would never vote against her. She then asked Ron to talk to his son to sway him to her side. And then…

OOH, those snakes! Ron basically told Mikey to vote out his biggest threat … Kristin. Weasels!

Elimination: The votes went as expected. Tara voted for Kristin, Filipe voted for Helen, Ron voted for Helen and Mikey voted for Kristin. Since it was a tie, Kristin was eliminated because she had the lowest percentage of weight loss. Just how Ron and Mikey planned it.

Loved Kristin’s homecoming celebration. Then they showed her 2 months later speaking before a crowd of people wanting to hear her success story. Kristin was my favorite contestant this season and I'm really sad to see her go, yet very happy to see how she inspires others.

Didya catch the little spoiler for next week’s show? Ali was talking to Mikey and behind him was the weight board. From what I can see, Ron and Filipe are above the yellow line.
