Right off the bat, Alison let the contestants know that they’d be playing solo from now on. After they got their old shirts back they had to choose their trainers. At first everyone was walking over to Jillian’s side. Since the objective is to win, people were obviously thinking of Jillian’s stellar track record. But finally the sides evened out.
Challenge, Part 1: Everyone took their weight loss in blocks and had to disburse them among the other teammates. Poor Tara and Helen got dumped on with over 200 pounds apiece, but Tara took it most personally. So personally that she told Laura that she was going to throw the weigh-in and send herself home. Laura reminded Tara that she was at the ranch to lose weight for herself and got through to her.
Challenge, Part 2: The players were taken to a racetrack where they all had junker cars assigned to them. NASCAR driver Clint Bowyer zoomed onto the track to give them a pep talk. Here’s where those blocks of weight came in – they were added to the total weight of the cars that they dragged. And guess what – Tara won! Her anger and frustration propelled that car across the finish line, winning immunity.
Bob made Sione and Filipe some very tasty looking grilled turkey kabobs. Get the recipe HERE.
Weigh-in and elimination: Tara came one pound away from being the first female to lose 100 pounds on the ranch. Tara didn’t do it but Kristin crushed that record.
Quote of the week from the inspiring Kristin: “If I can do this, anyone can.”
Laura had an amazingly good showing and jolted into the lead. Sione also reached the 100-pound-loss milestone. All Ron wanted to do was keep his son in the game. I’ve never seen someone so upset that they lost 10 pounds. Filipe also hit the 100-pound-off mark but didn’t lose enough to keep him above the yellow line. So that put him and Aubrey up for elimination. There were no really clear signs as to who everyone was leaning toward but in the end, Aubrey was sent home. And at home she slipped back into old patterns and promptly gained 9 pounds -- it's that easy. But slowly but surely she got back on track and lost those pounds and around 10 more.
Next week's show looks good -- the eliminated contestants come back for a second chance. And that has proven to be a big deal for many Biggest Loser winners.
