Don't drink your calories.
It's something I'm always telling my son when he wants orange juice or chocolate milk. And plain water doesn't cut it for him (wish it did!).
Gatorade (actually G2 or Propel) is reserved for baseball practice, and soda, whether regular or sugar-free, isn't the best choice. So that's why I'm loving the myriad flavors of Hint essense water.
A few years back, Glaceau had calorie-free flavored waters but dumped those in favor of their crayon-colored 150-calorie bottles of sugar water. The calorie-free flavors were good but some didn't quite have enough flavor oomph.
I don't know what magic the folks at Hint employ, but their water has a distinct sweetness that is really refreshing. I tried their new Tropical Fruit and Hibiscus-Vanilla flavors. Vanilla-flavored water isn't something I'd usually try -- I like citrusy or minty waters, especially when sweetener isn't involved. But the Hibiscus-Vanilla was wonderful -- very light, a little fragrant and a little sweet. The Tropical Fruit was also good -- not cloying at all with a lingering sweetness on the palate.
There are no calories, no added colors, caffeine, vitamins, minerals or anything artificial in the 16-ounce bottles.
