Biggest Loser discussion: The Super Bowl of weigh-ins

No one seemed thrilled that nutty Joelle was left standing. Filipe was especially ticked off. “Now you’re playing with fire,” he said.
So, fried chicken and cigarettes, eh Dave? That’s Dan’s teammate at home. Filipe’s cuz was burnin’ some butter on the treadmill. Bob had his team back at the gym and Joelle has stepped up her game.
Hunky celeb chef Curtis Stone showed the gang how to make healthier Super Bowl snacks. And we learned the evils of 7-layer dip – 1,755 calories in a big ol’ bowl. Curtis made the gang healthier chicken by using breast chunks instead of wings, skewering them onto rosemary sprigs. All for 230 calories a serving. Curtis then flew to North Carolina to surprise Mr. Chicken and Cigarettes with a cooking lesson. And Curtis has more Super Bowl recipes, including chili and a healthier 7-layer dip. (Check the box below.)
Blaine got to fly home and watch his wife give birth to a baby boy!
The challenge: NBC sure lucked out by picking Kurt Warner to be on the show. How did they know he was going to be in the Super Bowl? The contestants had to run back and forth across the football field and stuff footballs into teammates’ bins. The winner gets immunity. Helen won immunity, which means that her daughter Shanon’s coming back (if she’s not in jail!).
Bob had his teammates eat a big bowl of Fiber One cereal before heading off to the gym for their last-chance workout. Hope that gym has good ventilation. And a potty. Did you catch Bob’s disco shorts? Shineeeeee. Jillian had Dan huffing and puffing. And wailing and falling.
Quote of the week, from Dan: “I never thought it was possible to not be fat, cuz I’ve never known anything different. I look in the mirror and try to see that this can happen.”
Weigh-in and elimination: Ali brought back all the teammates so they could see how their partners did. They put up some amazing numbers, many in the double digits. Tara, the Miami Machine, won the weigh-in. So Brown Team (Mike and Ron) and Orange Team (Dave and Dan) are up for elimination. Much pleading and weeping followed. At the elimination, Tara ripped Dave a new one about not being committed to the process, yet she voted to keep Team Orange. In a tight vote, though, Orange was sent home.
And now that they’re home, Dave has quit smoking and lost 46 pounds, and Dan is off his diabetes meds and has lost 101 pounds.
Question of the day: Do you think that Dave sunk his team's chances by not fighting hard enough to stay?
