Biggest Loser week 9 ousted contestants Daniel Wright and Shay Sorrells ditched old bad snacking habits and found some new favorite snacks on the Biggest Loser ranch, they said Wednesday afternoon.
Before she started Biggest Loser, Shay said her downfall was ice cream. "I used to eat half a gallon of ice cream in a couple days," she says. It wouldn't be all at once -- a spoonful here or there every time she stepped into the kitchen was how it would disappear. But that habit is long gone. "Now I have frozen yogurt maybe twice a week," she says.
She also became a fan of Larabars, which were spotlighted on Tuesday night's show. Her favorite flavor is the Peanut Butter and Jelly. Nice thing about Larabars is how simple they are. The ingredients for the Peanut Butter and Jelly bar are dates, peanuts, unsweetened cherries and salt -- that's it.
Daniel said his problem was snacking while making breakfast. Being tired and hungry would cause him to snack his way to two meals. He also ditched his love of buffet restaurants. Now his favorite go-to snack is portion-controlled 100-calorie packs of cocoa-roasted almonds. He's probably referring to Emerald Cocoa-Roast Almonds, which do come in single-serve packs, crucial to portion control.
