Perhaps inspired by thin celebrities who manage to pop out babies and hit the red carpet in a week, a new buzzword has sprung up: pregorexia -- women who develop anorexia while pregnant.

Needless to say, calorie deprivation and overexercising can seriously harm an unborn baby. Undereating and overexercising can lead to low birth weight. And a furiously exercising preganant woman can put herself at risk for injury, since her ligaments are looser while pregnant. (I broke an ankle while pregnant.)

The Morning Show With Mike and Juliet had a segment on their show today (with an unfortunately placed ad for Alli), and featured women who had the disorder.

Apparently, women who are prone to disordered eating can develop pregorexia as they see themselves growing bigger by the day.  You can read more about the disorder HERE.
