This upcoming Sunday, Berkeley Lecture Series will host a talk by the prominent political activist and journalist Majid Tavallaei. Promised to be a "lively discussion on the current upheaval and vigorous movement of Iranian people," Tavallaei's talk is scheduled to start at 5pm at UC Berkeley. He will address Iran's tenth presidential election, focusing on future perspectives and challenges facing the nation.

Majid Tavallaei was the managing director of Naameh Research and Information Institute before immigrating to United States on a fellowship from Stanford University in 2007. The institute endeavors to provide approaches to achieving non-violent transitions for a democratic Iran. Tavallaei was also the editor-in-chief of the monthly journal Naameh, now banned by the government.
