Hotel Soaps - Coming Clean With…

September 4, 2:43 AM
by Mark Tylicki, Collectibles Examiner

We all hate to hear “They’re collectibles because they collect dust”.  Then there are those unique items which we can actually use.  Take for example – hotel soap.  Yes, the little bars are collectible.  Like ice cream they come in every color and advertise hotel chains around the world.  Collectors can go after a certain city, state or route.  It’s not my addiction but clean freaks (and lots of grandmothers) worldwide love the stuff.  And, they smell so sweet too.

Maids are their best friends when they provide extras – yep, trade value!  Then there are those who go a little overboard with supplying too much inventory…funny story.  Perhaps the scent and lather remind collectors of a special shower rendezvous on a trip – a nice souvenir of good time memories.  Some take photos, others take soap.  Of course, mint examples carry a premium with packaging intact and soap uncracked.  Used samples tend to be a little risky, even for the motel (not hotel) soap collector.

Does your office employ frequent travelers?  Why not startup a hotel soap collection?   Yes, a soap pool to remind everyone of the places they’ve been.  Drop a load off and pick up a bar!  On your coffee break take a few minutes to read:

“A design inspired by the natural beauty of the Australian native plant Eucryphia Lucida, the Leatherwood Collection combines crisp whites and a subtle floral image to enhance and blend with a wide range of bathroom decor styles.” – UClean, Online Cleaning Supply Store

If that doesn’t get you inspired for more work I don’t know what will.
