Alabama senior guard Mikhail Torrance - UA Athletics photo

There are a lot of things different about the Alabama men’s basketball program. Coleman Coliseum is different, the attitude of the fans is different, the head coach is different, the style of play is different and the practices are different. Alabama senior guard Mikhail Torrance should play a big role in many of those differences this season to hopefully lead the Tide to different, and better, results in ’09-’10.

At SEC Basketball Media Day, I caught up with the senior guard briefly. Mikhail talked about the impact of new head coach Anthony Grant and his desire to seize this opportunity in his final season at the University of Alabama. I like Mikhail a lot. He's always excellent with the media, very respectful and has a big smile on his face. He's also a very skilled player who should blossom under Anthony Grant and his staff's guidance.
