Here is my weekly update on former Alabama football players currently active in the NFL. Be sure to sign-up for e-mail alerts, so you never miss a post on Alabama or the SEC, by selecting subscribe on my main page.

Below you will find information on each player, season stats, my “Alabama in the NFL Player of the Week”, a schedule of games in week 10 this weekend, which players are matched-up in those games and my game predictions.

Alabama in the NFL Player of the Week: KC DL Wallace Gilberry
Wallace had another productive game on the D-line rotation for the Chiefs. KC lost to Jacksonville on the road but Wallace did his part. He picked up his third sack of the year and recorded two more tackles. Some were skeptical that Wallace would find a place in the NFL. He was caught in a numbers game with so much defensive line depth with his first team the New York Giants. Obviously a rebuilding Chiefs team has a much greater need for good players and Wallace has filled his role nicely in his second year in the NFL.

What to look for from former Tide players this weekend:
Keep an eye on the offensive lineman from Bama for Cincy this week. With Evan Mathis’ ankle injury keeping him out of practice this week, will he play? Will Andre Smith, with just a few practices under his belt, be active for the Steelers game? If so, that would be taking away an active list spot from another reserve player that they may need due to all their injuries. Watch video of some recent Andre Smith interviews here. Will Glen Coffee get some looks on the NFL Network Thursday night game for the 49’ers at home versus Mark Anderson and the Bears. Will Glen chip on Mark when he rushes Alex Smith off the edge?
