This battle of the sexes, at least when it comes to longevity, was actually decided by 2000 and only gets worse by 2030.
According to new data released by the Census Bureau specifically about the Baby Boom generation, Boomer women outnumber Boomer men - 50.9 percent to 49.1 percent. That wasn't always the case.
In 1970, the numerical battle of the sexes favored the men 50.3 percent to 49.7 percent. By 2000, the shift of power had taken place with women at 50.6 percent and men at 49.4 percent.
By 2030, the Census Bureau estimates that the percent of men will decline to 45.1 percent while the percentage of women will be 54.9 percent because the bureau believes that the men will die at a faster rate than the women.
