The Redhook Ale Brewery's 14th annual Haul Ash "Tour de Brew" and spring concert take place on May 17, 2009 (9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.). Haul Ash commemorates the eruption of Mt. St. Helens (which happened on May 18, 1980), and is a round-trip bicycling event for all ages.
The Tour begins and ends at the Redhook Ale Brewery, covering 41 miles of predominantly flat bike trails to and from the Fremont neighborhood (where Redhook was born). The ride is scheduled to leave the Brewery at 9:00 a.m. At the half-way point on Nickerson Street (after crossing the Fremont Bridge), of-age cyclists will be treated to cold brew. Total ride time is estimated by the Brewery at 2.5-4 hours.
Back at the Brewery, live concerts begin at noon. Entry is included in the day-of rider registration fee of $35; all-ages entry for non-riders will be $7 at the door.
If you're not interested in biking for your brew and/or you can't make Haul Ash 2009, you can still get your beer fix and Experience beer excellence during Seattle Beer Week (May 7-17, 2009).
