In Washington state, the Memorial Day weekend typically plays host to a variety of three or four-day events. In addition to the Northwest Folklife Festival and the Juan de Fuca Festival of the Arts, another big annual Memorial Day weekend event is the Sasquatch Music Festival in Eastern Washington. This year, Sasquatch takes place May 23-25, 2009, at the Gorge Amphitheatre.

The lineup for Sasquatch typically includes a number of well-known and popular alternative bands. This year's lineup includes heavy favorites Nine Inch Nails and Jane's Addiction, as well as the Kings of Leon, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Devotchka, The Decemberists, Gogol Bordello, the Silversun Pickups, Erykah Badu, The Murder City Devils, Ben Harper, Mos Def, and more. (See the Lineup pages on the website for a full list of the artists scheduled to appear.)

Sasquatch is held at the Gorge Amphitheatre in the City of George, WA. Tickets are currently $76.50/day, and as of this article's publication, are only available for Monday's shows.
