Photo by David Dow/NBAE via Getty ImagesThe Detroit Shock won their third title after defeating the San Antonio Silver Stars 76-60 at the Convocation Center at Eastern Michigan University on Sunday.

The Silver Stars started the first quarter on a 6-0 run, but had difficulty finding scoring options in the fourth. Becky Hammon was a nonfactor as she has been for the previous two games. She scored only five points and shot 1-10 from the floor. Ann Wauters and Sophia Young were the only players to score in double digits for the Stars scoring 19 and 15 points, respectively.

Detroit fell into rhythm in the fourth quarter despite early foul trouble. Katie Smith led the Shock in scoring with 18 points and six assists and was named Final’s MVP. Taj McWilliams-Franklin scored 13 points and eight rebounds. Deanna Nolan scored 12 points and had five assists.
