The Lessons of Leadership

August 21, 8:49 PM
by Steve Arneson, Leadership Examiner

One of the goals of this column is to bring you interesting and compelling leadership development resources - books, articles, websites, etc., that you can use to improve your leadership skills.  Here's a source that is pretty unique - www.50lessons.com.  What's cool about this site is that it provides short (3-5 minute) video clips of leaders from all over the world telling stories and sharing their experiences and leadership lessons.

What's really neat is that you can arrange to have these videos downloaded to an iPod or MP3 player, allowing you to absorb the learnings on-the-go, anywhere, anytime.  There are hundreds of videos to choose from, across a wide variety of topics such as leading change, strategy, innovation, and personal leadership.  The videos feature CEOs, functional leaders, entrepreneurs, and non-profit leaders, and really demonstrate the power of story-telling and the ability to learn from the lessons of experience.

Whether you're looking for something new for yourself, or want to set your team up with a unique learning tool, check out 50lessons.com - I'm confident you'll find it an interesting alternative to print or podcasts, and a great way to learn and improve your leadership skills.
