Milwaukee Bucks week in review: 11/2-11/8
The Milwaukee Bucks entered the second week of the NBA season at 1-1, tied for first in the Eastern Conference's Central Division. Here's a look at what has happened in the past week for the team:
- The team officially declined Joe Alexander's rookie contract for next season, making him a free agent after the season. Still, Alexander says the team's decision will not deter him.
- Michael Redd's MRI early in the week didn't look good - he'll be out at least another week with a left knee injury - the same knee he had surgery on last season. Charlie Bell has gotten a couple starts in Redd's absence, and Jodie Meeks had a nice game off the bench Saturday night in Redd's place.
- The team had three games this week, going 2-1.
- The Bucks had a big lead in Tuesday's game against the Bulls, only to let it slip away late. The Bucks fell to 1-2 on the season with the 83-81 loss.
- Friday's game against the Timberwolves got the team back on the winning track, as the Bucks won 87-72. The Bucks' defense was stout, holding the Wolves to just 39.2% shooting.
- Saturday's home game against the Knicks began a six game homestand for the team, and they began the stretch on a good note, dominating throughout in the 102-87 victory.
- The team ends the week 3-2, second place in the division, just percentage points behind the Bulls.
- The upcoming week shows just two game for the Bucks - Wednesday at home against the Nuggets, and Saturday at home against the Warriors. Can the Bucks increase their winning streak, currently at 2? We'll find out!
