A lot of things happened this week for the Milwaukee Bucks.  Here's a quick recap of the week's events.

  • The NBA season began on Tuesday the 27th, yet the Bucks were the last team to play their first game.
  • The Bucks began the week #27 on ESPN's NBA power rankings.
  • Milwaukee released forward Walter Sharpe this week.  He was battling an ACL injury.  That cut the Bucks roster down to 15, the maximum an NBA team can have.
  • The team was supposed to make a decision on whether or not to extend Joe Alexander's contract on Friday, but the NBA has pushed that date back to Monday the 2nd.  It will be a tough call, but ultimately, the Bucks should let him walk after this season.  The money could be better used elsewhere.
  • Carlos Delfino sat out the season opener after receiving a one game suspension during the preseason for his role in an altercation with Pistons' forward Austin Daye.
  • The Bucks' record for the week: 1-1.  Overall record: 1-1 (T-1 in the Central Division)
    • Milwaukee really struggled in the 3rd quarter of Friday night's season opener against the 76ers, ultimately losing by 13, 99-86.
      • Rookie Brandon Jennings nearly triple-doubled in the game, needing just 1 rebound and 1 assist to accomplish the historic feat.
    • The Bucks came right back on Saturday in the home opener against the Pistons and had a terrific 3rd quarter themselves that led to a win, 96-85.
      • Michael Redd tweaked his left knee, the same knee he had surgery on last season, in the win.  The team said taking him out of the game was just a precaution.
  • On the docket for this week: Decision on Alexander's contract (Monday), games Tuesday (@ Bulls), Friday (@ Wolves), and Saturday (Knicks).
