This is the first in a series of preview and background stories on teams in the Florida Football Alliance:
The Sarasota Millionaires have developed outstanding rivalries with several teams in their three years of existence. One of the team's fiercest competitors is the crosstown Bradenton Gladiators who the Millionaires will meet at least twice this season in the FFA. The Bradenton Gladiators Football, Inc is a Federal Non-profit 501(c)3 Organization whose mission is to bridge the gap between youth and young adulthood by instructing and playing top quality football and positively developing our neighborhoods and communities in the Manatee and Sarasota County area. Additionally the organization will promote the development of leadership, character, sportsmanship, tolerance, discipline, and athletic ability. The Organization will nurture fitness, volunteerism, and a lifelong love of sports in the community. We will encourage and help those individuals who do not have a college education to go to or back to school and share in the dream of academic and athletic excellence.
To strengthen the Gladiators’ relationship with the community, the Organization will participate in a mentoring program for at risk youth, host a minimum of two (2) community service activities annually, and manage a scholarship program for local individuals seeking education.
The Bradenton Gladiators adult minor league football program was develop to give players more than another shot at football. The Gladiators provide an opportunity for the players to pursue higher education and help turn their lives around. The team will be comprised of men 17 years and older, from various backgrounds, and who reside in Manatee and Sarasota Counties.
The Gladiators hope to provide quality family entertainment to our community. Our staff consists of volunteers from Manatee and Sarasota Counties that want to make a difference in their communities. Through community partnerships and the support of local businesses and organizations, the Bradenton Gladiators will achieve its goal of developing into a notable and worthwhile community-enriching program.
The Millionaires first game is November 14th vs the East Coast Reapers in Delray Beach, FL.
