Tickets are on sale now for a special holiday event at the Wyandotte Museums that will be held on December 12, 2009.

The festivities begin at the Ford-MacNichol Home (1896), at 2610 Biddle Avenue, which will welcome guests to see the beautifully decorated historical home decked out for the occasion, to visit with Santa, and to enjoy the refreshments.

The outside will be just as festive with strolling carolers in the Victorian tradition and roasted chestnuts to sample.

There will be an opportunity to peek inside the Burns Home (1908) at 2624 Biddle. Here are the hub offices of the Wyandotte Museums and the Wyandotte Historical Society. There is a public reading room where you can view museum documents like photographs, letters, journals, yearbooks, and genealogical information.

Finally, visit the Marx Home (1862) at 2630 Biddle. Take part in making a Victorian style ornament for your holiday tree and a pomander ball to scent your home with the fragrance of oranges.

The ticketed times are 6:00 pm, 6:45 pm, and 7:30 pm. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under. Buy them in advance at the office in the Burns Home at 2624 Biddle during their regular business hours Monday through Friday from 8 am until 5 pm.

There is free parking available behind the Museum.

The Christmas display will stay in place throughout December and can be seen during the Museum's normal hours of noon to 4 pm on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for a suggested donation of $2 for adults and 50 cents for children.

For more information, you can email the Museum at museum@wyan.org, or phone the information line at 734 324 7284, or phone the offices at 734 324 7297.
