There is some great color in the garden right now.
I am taking notes on what I like so I can find room to plant more next spring. Here are some of my choices.
If you want to add these plants to your garden, be sure to buy them from a nursery in your climate zone.
This is a Hydrangea Lime Light. It is growing in rich, well drained soil in full sun. The petal color is white tinged with green throughout the summer.

This is a Pagoda Dogwood tree. I planted it last year because of the sweet white spring flowers. I am enchanted with the fall color.
There are a pair of trees along the back fence. They are growing in average soil with leaf mold mulch.
It is considered an understory tree and can get up to 25 feet tall.

This is Ninebark Summer Wine.
There are soft pink flowers in the spring. There are three shrubs planted together in a border garden backed with a variety of shrubs. Ninebark Summer Wine grows to be 5 feet high by 5 feet wide.
The leaves fill in quickly and the dark color makes a dramatic backdrop for the lighter flowers in front.

This is Bergenia Piqsqueak. It is planted in a rain garden and doesn't seem to mind the change from very wet to very dry feet. I don't use any additional water in the rain garden.
This plant keeps its leaves throughout the winter in my Zone 6 garden. It is growing in full sun.
There are gaudy pink flowers on tall stalks in the spring.
This Bergenia is a magnet for bees and butterflies.
