Ewe-Nique Yarns

Two of the wonderful knit shops in Southeast Michigan are Ewe-Nique Yarns in Brighton and The Knitting Room in Birmingham.

 Ewe-Nique Yarns  is at 9864 E. Grand River in Brighton. Owner Sheri Giampa has received new shipments of merchandise that include:

  • Chris Bylsma – new stock of patterns

  • Mountain Colors – River Twist in all seven colors

Giampa has initiated a "wish list" to help your family and friends find the perfect gift for you. Stop by and fill out your list early, and be sure to let everyone know they can buy from the list or give you a gift card.
 
The 20% off special for November is in-stock elsebeth lavold yarns, including Silky Wood and Bambool.

Store Hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday from 10 am until 6 pm. Thursday from 10 am until 8 pm. Friday from 10 am until 5 pm. Saturday from 10 am until 4 pm. The shop will be closed on Thanksgiving.

The Knitting Room

The Knitting Room  is located at 251 E. Merrill Street in Birmingham. 
 
This shop is a fun destination for knitters far and near. Saturday is a favorite shopping day to take advantage of the 20% off on all books and on the featured yarn for that week. The November schedule is:
  • NOVEMBER 1 -- 1824 BY MISSION FALLS
  • NOVEMBER 8 -- JULIA BY NASHUA HANDKNITS
  • NOVEMBER 15 -- ALL SORTS OF SPECIALS DURING THE SHOP HOP!! COME IN AND SEE!!
  • NOVEMBER 22 -- KAYA BY CRYSTAL PALACE YARNS
  • NOVEMBER 29 -- ALL SOCK YARNS BE SURE TO ASK ABOUT FLAT FEET!

There is a full calendar of workshops for November.

Mom And Daughter/Teen Knitting
Wednesdays, November 5, 12 and 19 from 4:30 pm until 5:30 pm
Class Fee is $27 for the two of you plus materials
3 week session -- Bring your mom and learn to knit or get help on your ongoing project.
 
Beaded Votive
Saturday, November 8 from 10:00 am until noon
Class Fee is $30 plus materials fee of $25
Set your holiday table with a custom beaded votive -- you pick the color scheme to match your decor, knitted with beads on silver or gold wire.
 
Beyond The Scarf -- Knitting Basics
Thursdays, November 6, 13 and 20 from 10:00 am until noon
Class Fee is $60 plus materials
Another next step offering. Learn how to use those knit and purl stitches together to create nine pattern stitches on a gorgeous Aran pillow. Materials required: 600-800 yards of knitting worsted wound and ready to cast on. (shop samples are Mission Falls 1824 or Cascade 220)
 
Beyond The Scarf -- Thrummed Mittens
Thursday, November 20 from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm
Class Fee is $30 plus materials
 
Workshop rules:
We do request that all materials used during classes be purchased at The Knitting Room. Unless otherwise noted, you must pre-register and pre-pay for all classes. Refunds will be given only if a class is cancelled by the store. Please call (248-540-3623) or stop in the shop to register. If you prefer, you may register by sending us a check at 251 E. Merrill St., Birmingham, MI 48009. Please be sure to specify the class and give us a phone number. REMEMBER, ALL STUDENTS ENROLLED IN A CLASS RECEIVE 10% OFF ALL YARN PURCHASES WHILE ENROLLED!!
 
The Knitting Room is open Monday through Friday from 10 am until 5 pm and Saturday 10 am until 4 pm.
