Go Comedy! is opening this coming week, on Wednesday, November 12, with an 8 pm show. The club is located at Woodward at 261 East Nine Mile. The cabaret-theater club specializes in humor, but also includes a full bar and food from local restaurants.

The Go Comedy! Inprov Theater will be open Wednesday through Sunday each week with a variety of shows including the All Star Showdown that features competition among the club's top performers, improvisational comedy skits, and musicals.

Call the club at 248-327-0575 to make your reservation.

The creative people behind Go Comedy! are: Pj Jacokes, Chris DiAngelo, Tommy LeRoy, and Gerald Knight. They will perform regularly and welcome upcoming comedic talents to their stage. You may have seen their earlier performances at The Second City (Detroit, Cleveland, and Chicago), The Planet Ant, The Improv Inferno, The Purple Rose, Meadowbrook Theatre, The Furniture Factory, The University of Michigan CRLT Players, and Totally Unrehearsed Theater at The Comedy Castle.

They also offer classes at their Go Comedy! U designed to help budding comics perfect their improv act and learn tricks and tools of the trade. Check it out here.

You can hire the masters of standup and wit for private parties, school assemblies, corporate meetings, seminars, etc. Contact Pj Jacokes at pj@gocomedy.net for information on availability and pricing.

More info: According to the American Heritage Dictionary, to improvise means to "invent, compose, or perform with little or no preparation." The comedic improv styling at Go Comedy! means they know how to make it very funny.
