Yesterday's Treasures

The town of Fenton is near several small lakes (Mill Pond, Seven Lakes State Park, Silver Lake, Pine Lake, Marl Lake, and others). Fenton is an easy drive on US-23, and is located between Flint and Brighton. Fenton is home to three antique stores that make it worth the drive. Click here for a map

Yesterday's Treasures is at 300 S Leroy, the heart of downtown. They like to say, "If we get a good deal, we give a good deal." The shop is in the old office building from the mill days. Ask Stacy about the history of the building and especially Mrs. McCrory. The shop is wonderfully quirky. An old printer's chest is home to the estate and antique jewelry, and two chairs sit right in front to make you comfortable while you hunt for treasures. Open the drawers and doors in the wonderful old furniture to find more things waiting for you. This shop is for people who love beautiful, old pieces. There is sterling and plate, old doorknobs and furniture hardware, fine old glass items, embroidered linens, as well as vintage hats and dressing table items. There are shelves of salt-and-peppers, teacups, and cookie jars. There is street parking and nearby parking lots. Contact information: yesterdaytreasures@sbcglobal.net, 810-714-2600.

Fratz' Consignment

Fratz' Consignment is at 1442 Torrey Road. The store seems large from the outside and larger once you are inside. If you can imagine it, you can find it at Fratz'. There is a great collection of recent books on gardening, cooking, and crafts. There are kitchen items from the past five decades. There are seasonal decorating items. There is row after row of furniture. There is even a corner to sit with a cup of coffee and take a rest before you continue perusing. Click here to read about consignments. They are in a shopping mall, so parking is easy. Their contact information: 810-714-0588. Their hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday open from 10 am to 6 pm; Wednesday open from 10 am to 7 pm; and Sundays open from 1 pm to 5 pm.

Garage Sale 360 is at 1011 West Silver Lake Road. This happy shop is very full of treasures in a wide range of genres and price points. The walls are covered with prints, paintings, mirrors, and knick-knack display pieces. Items are organized by type, which makes shopping easy. Tabletops are crowded with dishes, figurines, candle holders, and decor items. There is a corner for bed and table linens, pillows, and throws. There is a parking lot out front, and the owners were talking about expanding. Ask them about taking consignments. Their contact information: 810-624-7465.
