On Tuesday afternoon Mark Teixeira pulled on the jersey that he will wear for the next eight years. It suits him.
For the whole rundown on the press conference check out here at Yankees.com and here at The Boston Globe, of all places, but a key piece of insight came when Teixeira was telling how he and wife Leigh came to his final decision to sign with the Yankees.
"I said to Leigh, 'Everything's equal. Where would you want to play?'" Teixeira said. "Finally, she broke down and said, 'I want you to be a Yankee.' That's what did it for me."
Turns out, similar to CC Sabathia here, it came down to his wife’s buy-in to come to New York.
