SERIOUSLY????  So, dry news first::  Murray's Bagels's co-founder, Adam Pomerantz, is opening Leo's Bagels in the quality- bagel-deprived financial district.  But let's be honest, the real reason to get down there is to purchase one of these spectacular "bagel bling" T-shirts!   I don't know who conceived of this ingenious design, but I'm certainly going to find out.  And wait, you HAVE to see the back of these things:

In case the image is too small, it says "Hand Rolled" over the knuckles.  Aren't these just to DIE??  Oh, right, the bagel place....

Leo's is slated to open early next week.  Grub Street reports that, in addition to the hand-rolled, baked-on-site bagels, spread and deli menu found at Murray's, Leo's has a few specialties:  "a salad named the Leo (after Pomerantz’s uncle) will combine egg salad, lox, and onions; and a baker’s dozen will be called a “broker’s dozen.”    Not quite as clever as their merchandise, but you can't win 'em all.

Leo’s Bagels is located at  3 Hanover Sq., near Stone Street.   212-785-4700.  The website, www.leosbagels.com has yet to launch, but tells us simply that we can expect "Bagels with Chutzpah".
