The Wimauma Community Collection Center will no longer operate after Wednesday and residents who have left solid waste items at their curb sides will no longer be able to do so.
Beginning Thursday residents will need to dispose of items such as furniture, appliances, metal and normal household construction debris to the County's four other collection sites.
Those locations — open Monday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. — are:
South County Community Collection Center, 13000 U.S. Hwy 41 South, just north of Big Bend Road.
Alderman Ford Community Collection Center, 9402 S.R. 39 in Lithia.
Hillsborough Heights Community Collection Center, 6209 C.R. 579 in Mango.
Northwest County Community Collection Center, 8001 W. Linebaugh Ave. in Citrus Park.
Items also can be taken to the Southeast County Landfill at 15960 C.R. 672 in the Balm area.
Residents can use the collection centers and the landfill free of charge (up to certain limits) by presenting the on-site attendant their current property tax bill showing their solid waste collection and disposal assessments.
