The state Division of Forestry is conducting a week-long control burn of about 2,000 acres in the Wiregrass area of Pasco County near the Hillsborough County line.
The burns are targeting potential fuel built up in the Wiregrass area between Bruce B. Downs and Meadow Pointe boulevards.
The communities of Seven Oaks, Meadow Point and Country Walk could be in the path of the smoke pattern and those who suffer from respiratory problems should stay inside during the burning.
The burns will start in the morning and no live flames are intended after 3 p.m., although there still could be smoldering smoke afterward.
The burns could stretch into next week, depending on weather conditions.
