Bourbon is no longer relegated to stuffy cigar libraries filled with cantankerous men who feel the need to hang signs on the door informing the world of their ‘men only’ club. No, whiskey is taking the world by storm welcoming in the world of female consumers with the creation of welcoming cocktails and variety bourbons with mellow tones. Of course that isn’t to say women prefer the easy route to brown liquor fulfillment. There are a number of women among the ranks of spirited consumers who fancy stiffer varieties of bourbon and whiskey to be sure.

This Independence Day whiskey fulfillment is just on the horizon with a few modern cocktail recipes provided by Old Forester and Canadian Mist. Keep your cool this weekend and all summer long with these tall refreshing twists on the classic Julep cocktail made easy with no muddling, an updated rendition of the bourbon and cola and two tall drink recipe versions using lemonade sure to keep you cool long into the evening.
