Bourbon Heritage Month - Bourbon on the Rocks - photo property of The IntoxicologistMidnight Cowboy and Dixie Singer might have you whistling a new tune.  Kansas City Cocktails Examiner, Angie Rayfield, not only gives two cocktails here, but a blast from the past with the ‘Midnight Cowboy’ movie poster with Dustin Hoffman and Jon Voight on the cover. You might need a stiff drink!

Mint Magic herbal tea mint julep recipe is a fine example of how to bring the influence of tea to the cocktail. Tea Examiner, Margaret Studer took the classic Mint Julep and brought it to a new level of minty goodness by using mint tea with bourbon. She also gives the option of sugarless sweetener to make the cocktail low calorie. 
 
New Orleans Bartender Examiner, Marigny deMauriac, gives a little information about a bourbon based spirit; Sweet Lucy from Prichards’ Distillery. Marigny includes a recipe for the Sweet Lucy bourbon highballLink for Prichards’ Distillery
 
Dallas Drinks Examiner, Kevin Gray, tries to recall last week…Kentucky Bourbon Festival: Event Recap.  No really, he does a fine job of it after all that bourbon! It’s a tough job, but somebody has to do it.
 
Houston Spirits Examiner stayed busy the last few days with three bourbon related reviews:  Red Stag by Jim Beam, Ancient Age Bourbon and 1792 Ridgemont Reserve Bourbon. Two he suggests drink with cola and one he mentions as ‘best in the business.’
