When we think of S’mores visions of graham crackers followed by gooey marshmallows combined with creamy warm chocolate oozing from the center come to mind. Possibly a campfire crackling in the background with hoots from owls and the deep buzz of crickets and bugs sharp in the night remind us – we are not alone… Eerie!

Lately it seems there is a day set aside for just about everything. August 10 is no different. Monday is National S’mores Day. Even though it is not officially recognized as such, there is a pretty good chance Girl Scouts across the nation will be celebrating by raising a campfire stick in toast with marshmallows at the ready to mash between graham crackers and chocolate bars. Chocolaty treats are not just for kids in candy stores. This Monday make like an adult in a cocktail shop and have a delicious chocolate laced drink with lots of whipped in goodies that make your senses whirl with delight just like they used to when you were a kid.

Enjoy the Smoretini cocktail recipe below fit for a crowd without the need for campfire. Cruise through the slide show below for more cocktails fitting in with the chocolate theme. There you will find cocktails using EFFEN Vodka, Leblon Cachaca, Averna, Don Julio Tequila, G’vine Gin, Absinthe Mata Hari and Absolut Vodka. You will also find Mocktails of the chocolate variety to quench your adult sweet tooth for anytime consumption.

SmoretiniSmoretini
32 ounces Vodka
16 ounces Chocolate Liqueur
1 64-ounce pitcher
1 sleeve of graham crackers or more if needed
1 jar marshmallow creme (Marshmallow Fluff)
16 martini glasses
1 bag wooden skewers
1 bag miniature marshmallows

Pour vodka and chocolate liqueur into pitcher and stir. Refrigerate for several hours until very cold. Crush a graham crackers and place into a small bowl. Rim martini glasses with marshmallow crème. Dip glasses into graham cracker crumbs and shake gently to remove excess. Place marshmallows on skewers and toast over an open flame (grill or fire pit preferably). Pour 3 ounces of cold drink mixture into each prepared glass and serve with toasted marshmallow as garnish.
