Greetings from Nebraska,

On Friday, June 12 we are hosting a wine tasting dinner and auction to benefit The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. JDRF, as it is commonly known, is one of the world’s largest charitable foundations and advocate for Type 1 diabetes. The Omaha/Council Bluffs Chapter for JDRF has been and continues to be very proactive in our fundraising and has been recognized in the past as the International Chapter of the Year.

Our wine-tasting and auction is going to directly benefit the Omaha/Council Bluffs chapter and will go as credit for my fundraising efforts toward the Ride for the Cure. I have been challenged to raise $4,000 this year in order to participate in the Ride for the Cure. Last year, I was able to raise over $5,000 and participate in the ride that was held in Whitefish, Montana. This year’s ride is going to be held in Kansas City, Missouri. This will be great for JDRF because even more money will go directly to the charity.

The wine-tasting and auction will be held in our Club Room at the Papillion Hy-Vee. We have our certified Wine Expert, Steve Dunlap, who will be participating as well as a guest chef. Keith Walsh is a professional chef who has worked at restaurants such as The French Café, Happy Hollow Country Club, and The Omaha Country Club. He is immensely talented and excited to donate his time to help the charity. We will also be holding a silent auction which will have many great items to bid on. All proceeds from the evening will go to benefit JDRF and your participation/donation is tax deductible.

The fee for the dinner is $35 per person, or $60 per couple. This includes dinner and the wine tasting event. The evening will start at 6pm with the silent auction; dinner will be served at 7:00. If you are unable to come, but would still like to make a donation to JDRF we would welcome that as well. Checks may be made payable to JDRF and can be sent directly to me. Upon receipt, I will mail you a tax deduction form.

Thank you for your interest and we hope to see you on June 12th. Again, if you are unable to attend but would like to donate; any amount that you are able to give is greatly appreciated as we are trying to raise over $5,000 again. We are reserving the evening to the first 40 people who RSVP so we ask that you respond by June 1st. You can RSVP to the store by calling 597-5790. Thank you for your time and let’s all team up to find a cure!
