Landon Donovan captured the 2008 Honda Player of the year award today, given to the best U.S. national team player and chosen by sports media in the U.S. This is the fifth time Donovan has won the award, which is the most ever.

If you’re looking for an opinion on the matter, check out this post from U.S. soccer journalist Ives Galarcep, who believes keeper Tim Howard should have won the award going away.

This comes as Donovan is heading to practice with Bayern Munich, and if you read that entire article, his heart is not completely with the MLS.

What do you think, should Donovan have won the award? Will he be coming back to the MLS?
