Calling all neighbors, kids, bicycles, creative teams, marching bands and civic-minded groups! March in Santa Monica's Fourth of July 2009 Parade! Spectators Welcome!

The parade is Saturday, July 4th starting 9:30 AM at the Santa Monica Civic Center.  Please observe the attached map to the event and schedule of street closures.

Marina Del Rey, just up the coast is a steady fireworks catch for 4th of July thrills and explosions:

See this year’s twenty-minute display presented by the famed Zambelli Pyrotechnics, which originated more than 100 years ago in Italy, and follow the display over FM radio KXLU 88.9 fm on the dial. Those watching can tune in to listen on their FM radios.

The music will be relayed over loudspeakers in Burton Chace Park, for onlookers there.

Burton Chace Park, located at 13650 Mindanao Way, and Fisherman’s Village, at 13755 Fiji Way, are premier locations for viewing the pyrotechnic extravaganza.

Fireworks are shot from a barge across the Marina’s main channel.

The Marina del Rey WaterBus will operate from 11 a.m. to midnight and the Beach Shuttle will run 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 4th offering an alternative way to travel around the Marina.  Ample parking is available throughout Marina del Rey, but these lots fill up early!

Parking fees in these lots range from $5.00 to $8.00. Most parking lots are full by 6 p.m. so arrive early!

Event street closures that day may impact your arrival and departure in Marina del Rey by car, shuttle, or taxi. Schedule an early arrival to avoid inconveniences.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  If you don't know the area, please see Karen Lipker's Marina del Rey 4th info for additional information about FREE parking lots (with addresses) in the area!
