Michael Jackson the King of Pop dies
Michael Jackson, the "one glove wonder" also known as The "King of Pop,' died suddenly today at the age of 50. The death was confirmed by the Los Angeles Times and the Associated Press but TMZ was the first to report the news
Reportedly the legend suffered cardiac arrest this afternoon around 12;26 pm . Medics performed CPR but were unable to revive Jackson. A TMZ sources has reported that Jackson was dead when paramedics arrived, but the LA Times says he was in a coma upon arrival at the UCLA Hospital.
The LA Times reports that Captain Steve Ruda of the Los Angeles Fire Department said that Jackson was not breathing when help arrived at the house. The house is only about a two minute drive from the hospital. In the past their have been reports of health problems and his possible addictions to pain killers.
Fans gathered at the UCLA hospital within minutes of the Jackson announcement. Tears of anguish over Jackson’s death filled a room in an Orlando home. Said Charity Diaz, “This is just like when Princess Diana died”. This will be remembered forever just like when Elvis died.”
Callers flooded the lines on news shows like CNN with disbelief at the Icons passing.
Latest reports say that hundreds of fans have gathered outside the hospital to mourn the loss of the Icon. Later tonight a candle light vigil is expected on the hospital lawn.
On Michael Jackson's official Facebook Fan Page there was a statement from Sony:

Jackson had begun an effort to revive his career. Earlier this year he announced he would perform 50 concerts at London's O2 Arena. Those sold out concerts were set to begin on July 13. The star had been rehearsing in the Los Angeles area for the London shows.
Jackson is survived by his children Michael Jr. Paris and Prince.

Bio:
Jackson was born on Aug. 29, 1958, in Gary, Indiana, the seventh of nine children. Five Jackson boys -- Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael -- first performed together at a talent show when Michael was 6. They walked off with first prize and went on to become a best-selling band, The Jackson Five, and then The Jackson 5.
Jackson made his first solo album in 1972, and released "Thriller" in 1982, which became a smash hit that yielded seven top-10 singles. The album sold 21 million copies in the United States and at least 27 million worldwide.
The next year, he unveiled his signature "moonwalk" dance move while performing "Billie Jean" during an NBC special.
In 1994, Jackson married Elvis Presley's only child, Lisa Marie, but the marriage ended in divorce in 1996. Jackson married Debbie Rowe the same year and had two children, before splitting in 1999. The couple never lived together.
