Some late October releases

Once again, we’ve dragged our feet on this topic, but snooping about, we’ve discovered lots of new goodies about to be released—many local authors among them, this time.  So do take another peek into the vault with us, and we hope you find something here you will enjoy.

On the local scene, romance author C.L. Wilson’s long-awaited Lady of Song and Souls will be released October 27, the same day that her fellow romance author Terri Garey’s new Nikki Styx novel, Silent Night, Haunted Night, is due. Deep Kiss of Winter, by Kresely Cole and Gena Showalter came out this past week (the 13th) (hence, the book signing, this past weekend).

Other romance releases include Bed of Roses by Nora Roberts comes out the 27, as does Hot on Her Heels, by Susan Mallery, Time After Time by Kay Hooper, and Western Skies (a combo of Song of the West and Boundary Lines) by Nora Roberts. Also, a couple Regency set ones: The Care and Taming of a Rogue, by Suzanne Enoch, The Courtesan’s Scoundrel by Julia London, The Wicked Duke Takes a Wife by Jillian Hunter, Midnight Pleasures with a Scoundrel by Lorraine Heath, Untamed Bride (Volume One of the Black Cobra Quartet) by Stephanie Laurens, and To Desire a Devil, by Elizabeth Hoyt. And a couple Christmas titles: Snow Angels by Fern Michaels, Marie Bostwick, Jana McMahan, and Rosalind Noonan; also in the theme, Linda Lael Miller’s Creed Country Christmas is due out.

Also, for the fantasy fans, Imager’s Challenge, by L.E Modesitt Jr. came out this past week; Absolute Death, (a Sandman title) by Neil Gaiman, comes out October 20; Orcs: Army of Shadows, by Stan Nicholls comes out the 21; Brandon Sanderson and Robert Jordan’s The Gathering Storm will be out on the 27, as will Tempted, by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast. And a new (science fiction!:)) Kris Longknife novel, Audacious, by Mike Shepherd, comes out October 30 (according to the Random House site); also SF author Jack McDevitt releases The Devil’s Eye on October 27; R.M. Meluch’s Strength and Honor comes out that day, and Laurell K. Hamilton, with Yasmine Galenorn, Marjorie M. Liu, and Sharon Shinn, release Never After, while Julie Kenner’s Tainted, also releases October 27. Also on the 27th Steven L. Kent’s The Clone Betrayal also comes out, and James Blaylock’s The Knights of Cornerstone is re-released (in paperback?) that day, as well; The Witches Kitchen by Cecelia Holland comes out in paperback on the 27th, while Bite Marks, a new urban fantasy by Jennifer Rardin, comes out on the 29th, while science fiction author Gregory Benford re-releases Great Sky River on Halloween. And speaking of Halloween, there’s a new one that released in September called The Ghost Quartet, with stories by Brian Lumley, Orson Scott Card, and Tanith Lee (edited by Marvin Kaye) that just may be perfect for the holiday.

So, short but sweet. Those are just a few of the titles you can expect to find out now, or coming very soon.
